My Classes
I teach classes on creative nonfiction writing, submitting and publishing. I teach online via webinar, self-paced courses on Substack, and sometimes IRL too.
Writing about writing presents a great opportunity for writers of all genres, emerging and experienced, to get published and build platform. I’ll present a wide range of topics for these essays and several published examples—and show you how to write engaging essays about your craft and writing life. You’ll leave with a template to follow and a list of several outlets for publication and tips for submitting

I'm so glad I took Andrea's "Writing on Writing" webinar—a n incredibly well-organized presentation filled with actionable guidance, resources, and inspiration. I'd recommend it to any writer who is thinking about writing, about any aspect of writing or the writing life.

The Forever Workshops…
…are hosted by the fine folks at Chill Subs on Substack. Teaching on Substack has been a remarkable experience for me. I taught —Finding Your Essay’s Heartbeat in 2024 and Quiet Writing: Crafting Stories from Everyday Moments in 2025. Both are still available and described below.
The Forever Workshops are offered monthly via subscription for a remarkably reasonable price, $10/course, four classes in a month
Chill Subs has a great line up of faculty and new course content each month. And you can access it when you have the time to get to it—that’s the beauty of a self-paced program. That said, the beauty of participating when the course is live is all the super interaction among writers and direct feedback from the teacher. That’s my favorite part!
Quiet Writing: Crafting Stories from Everyday Moments
Discover the art of quiet writing, where the power of storytelling emerges from the small, often-overlooked moments of daily life. Through close readings, you’ll explore what defines quiet writing, focusing on how it captures universal truths with subtlety and nuance. You’ll also engage in your own quiet writing practice, cultivating a voice that invites readers to reflect and connect
