Submit It Now!

I lead a monthly co-working session, called Submit It Now!, for writers to gather and work on submitting their writing.

Submit-It-Now!

Time and Support to Get Published

The first Wednesday of the month

4:30 pm – 6:00 pm PST

Gather with other writers and dedicate an hour to submitting your writing to lit mags. After a brief check-in, I spend about 20-30 minutes sharing a new resource or addressing a key question to help make the submission process easier. From there you get to work, and I’ll be available for questions. (The Q&A is super active.) At the close we circle back to see how the hour went and celebrate hitting SUBMIT.

These sessions are hosted on the Chill Subs platform and led by me. Registration each month is required in order to get the link—but it’s FREE!

You can always find the event in the Chill Subs Events.

Next session: Wednesday, July 1, 2026.

Go HERE to register.

The submission topic that I’ll review in July is Substack Journals—what that means, how to find them, plus examples, and pros and cons to submitting to these outlets. As always, you will have time to work on submissions and ask questions.

Upcoming Topics:

  • August 5: Nuts & Bolts of Submitting—contracts, rights, reprints, cover letters, and more.

  • September—No session, on vacation!

  • October 7: AI and lit mag submitting—the rules, the reasons, and the many questions it raises.

  • November 4: The companion piece (also called writing adjacent content), what this means and how it can support your book and platform.

  • December Topic: How to do a year-end audit of your writing and submitting, and translate that into goals for the new year.

After each Submit It Now! session, I write up a summary of the submission tool or question I reviewed that day. These articles are published on the Chill Subs Blog, and I’ve linked several here.
